About Us
When our founder’s son was diagnosed with autism in 2014 and it was quite difficult to find help along the way, The Grant Williams Foundation was established in 2020 by Chantava Spencer and named after the founder’s son, specifically for kids with autism and those with intellectual and developmental disabilities. When the founder’s son was diagnosed with autism in 2014 and it was quite difficult to find help along the way. This experience Inspired her to create this nonprofit to make a difference and help families and by fostering the acceptance and inclusion of all people.
GWF looks to provide a responsive child welfare program and infrastructure that can be replicated by other communities around the country providing a full continuum of high-quality family preservation, case management, foster care, adoption, emergency shelter, group home, independent living, therapy, mentoring, family enrichment, and respite services to both typical and special needs children and their families.
Grant Williams Foundation believes very strongly in the power of transformation especially for people with special disorders living in minority communities. This belief drives our passion for improving the lives of all affected by autism and we envision a world where individuals and families living with autism can maximize their quality of life, are treated with the highest level of dignity and live in a society in which their talents and skills are appreciated and valued.
We provide advocacy services, educational resources, information and referral, support, and the community at national, state, and local levels through our strong nationwide initiatives and programs. We provide guidance, advice, and campaigns that support improved rights, services, and opportunities to help people diagnosed with a developmental disability including autism spectrum disorder from birth up to the age of 22.
Our foundation educates the public about autism awareness; we also provide families with tools and educational materials to help in the early detection of autism as well as resources to treat children suffering from autism. We intend to keep providing families with information on programs available to assist them.
Grant Williams Foundation is dedicated to promoting solutions, across board and throughout the life span, for the needs of individuals with autism and their families. We do this through advocacy and support; increasing understanding and acceptance of people with autism, and advancing research into causes and better interventions for autism spectrum disorder and related conditions.
Through partnerships and collaboration, we are committed to:
